Another reason may have been that it was the 90s and the "unplugged" treatment was somewhat in vogue. The acoustic piano opening to Rhiannon played into that as well (not to mention Landslide as already mentioned here). An unplugged Gypsy (like that one from the AHI benefit) would have been so good.
