Yes, even a simple update that he continues to work on his recovery, thank you for your messages, doesn't have to be anything fancy.
Makes me nervous wondering if there is residual physical/cognitive impact that they are hoping will get better.
But maybe it's just a sense that it's private and nothing more needs to be said until he's ready to speak for himself
Clearly they had to say something to acknowledge it happened before the gossip rags got ahold of it and twisted things all around.
