is badly written. It's from that breed of pseudo-intelligent blather on politics or art that Orwell, in his
essay on the decline of English, describes as, "at its worst, not consisting of words picked out for the sake of their meaning, nor images invented in order to make the meaning clearer. It consists in gumming together long strips of words which have already been set in order by someone else, and making the results presentable by sheer humbug. Here, there are a lot of
words. Yet, I have read it twice and concluded that there is no discernable
meaning; I would, in fairness, say that I get a general 'impression' (ie, he seems to like the band, he doesn't seem to like the band), but I don't even get the gist!
I think that JS is right about giving this guy too much credit, because even if he is intending to be witty and light-hearted, it's pretty clear that he the least of us knows what he's going on about!
