Huh? There is no standard songwriting royalty per song. It's based on a ton of factors such as sales, plays, streams, movie features, etc. A song like "Don't Dream It's Over" is used everywhere and songs like that generate somewhere between 500,000 to a million per year. Then you add in his other big hits like Something So Strong, Song of The Lonely Mountain, I Got You, etc. He's the sole songwriter in most of his songs as well meaning that gets all the royalties on those songs and doesn't have to share with co-writers. That's separate from the 12 million album sales that Crowded House has had plus his album sales from Split Enz, Finn Brothers, solo albums, etc. Then you add in all the tours and the revenue he gets from having a very active recording studio that he rents out to musicians and you get about 30 million in total net worth.
