If the band is going to be so petty and were not prepared to meet him halfway with his duo tour plans then why should he be the bigger person and be sucked back into the drama. He doesn't need the money so he is not motivated by that. And the fact he is still being creative and I think will receive a huge amount of appreciation and respect from his fans on his next solo tour....all his career/musical/creative needs will now be met without them
If he were to agree to it, it would be along the lines of preserving the legacy, which he seems to be most upset/bothered by
