As for "The Black Dress"... I'll admit that I'd like to see Stevie shake things up once in a while... she's always looked absolutely amazing in reds, for example... but I really do think that she's gotten to a point where she doesn't want people to focus on her dresses, platform boots, shawls, hats, etc., anymore.
As a younger woman, all of those wardrobe changes were part of the fun for her, but I think now she just wants to get up there on stage and sing, and have people focus on
that.
Perhaps she may even feel that, at 55 years old, she'd seem ridiculous or self-parodying if she still ran offstage after every other song, to change outfits. We all know how she is about people "acting their age!"
But no, a little color or variety wouldn't hurt her.
