I'm sure you know, but I definitely didn't mean to imply that Lindsey can only be appreciated, if Stevie plays a "lesser" role... I'm just commenting on the fact that, historically, Stevie has gotten the most attention. Rightly or wrongly.
Even on the current tour, so many reviewers have stated, "essentially it was Nicks that the audience was there to see."
So I think she's sensitive of that fact these days, and when it comes to Fleetwood Mac, I think she does tone things down a bit to help prevent ruffled feathers.
In many ways this benefits her as well, because it takes a lot of the heat off of her.
But I'm sure her current health problems are also contributing to her lessened fan interaction in other ways... such as the inability to lean forward to accept gifts, etc.
As I've said before, several times, I'm thrilled that she and Lindsey are at a place in their relationship, where they can easily... and willingly... play up each other's strengths, and downplay each other's weaknesses. With seemingly very little ego getting in the way.
Just fifteen years ago, who would've thought that there would ever come a day when they were dealing with each other with this level of kindness and perceptivity?
