Okay, let's put it a different way: Christine had as many songs on the Greatest Hits album as Stevie and Lindsey combined. She was the voice. I wonder how the story would be different now if Christine had gotten help in 1991 and dealt with the issues that kept her off the road for the better part of a quarter century.

Did the thought ever occur to Stevie's fans that a large part of solo success is largely because she gives Fleetwood Mac fans a sense of connection to the band?

I saw her solo on the TISL tour (my only SN solo show) for probably the same reason I've seen chiffon-heads at a Mick Fleetwood's Zoo show (when Bekka Bramlett was one of the singers) and at a Peter Green show. I wanted that sense of connection.

And, she gives people that connection.
