It wasn't a FM song, it was Lindsey singing Holiday Road on National Lampoon's Vacation (watched it on TV during a rough time in my life because I needed to laugh). Did some online research on Lindsey and found FM, which I knew some of their songs from the radio (was familiar with GYOW, Dreams, The Chain, Rhiannon and Don't Stop mostly).
I bought Lindsey's Out of the Cradle and Go Insane CDs along with FM's Greatest Hits. The obsession grew and grew.
