That said, growing up learning guitar and keyboards by playing along, I HATED him for it. For guitar, you had to retune for every *&^%ing song, and on keys(unless it was something you could manually change the pitch), you were screwed!
Back to WW, it's never been a favorite of mine. The production sounds horribly dated, with all those tom fills.

Yes, regarding Lindsey's production choices. He liked to speed up the tape, and the effect is especially noticeable some of Christine's songs. As good as it is, Isn't it Midnight would have been far better if he'd stayed true to the original key.
I don't think of WW as dated. Yeah, those tom fills might be a bit of a tell that it's the early-to-mid seventies. (Think SHOW ME A SMILE.) But to my ears the production on it is pretty clean and crisp. And her voice is just gorgeous. Weird choice for a first single, though.
