Perhaps you should revisit Peal Jam and Nirvana. Brilliant, hard hitting and emotion-filled rock. Ahhh.... those were the days. And from roughly that time period I'd recommend 'The Bends' by Radiohead. They really don't make (much) rock like that anymore- though Arctic Monkeys and a few other bands are knocking around today. Simon Cowell and the likes have a lot to answer for.'
