I suppose Lindsey may be referencing the family construct he grew up with. He has a brother; he doesn't have a sister. What you read was likely just someone's opinion. I don't think Lindsey ever referred to Stevie as his sister. It's a rather silly notion that he left "sister" out of the lyric because of a beef with Stevie.
