I don't get the shock personally... It's a national government event. They just wouldn't take the chance of something going wrong.

I rather take a chance hitting a sour note singing the national anthem or any other song live then something going wrong with a pre recorded sound track.If the CD/tape/record or digital file starts skipping or speeds up or slows down.That blooper will be more notice then hitting a sour note singing it live.
