There were also others who had their bad moments in the 80s, not just Grace. After 1985 Stevie went into a personal and creative slump that lasted about a decade due to the Klonopin. There was a time when I thought she was really finished. Then she managed to kick that drug and was lucky to get a sort of cultural revival in the post-grunge era.
If there was a time when I thought Stevie looked awful I think it was the mid to late 1980s, by which time it was obvious that there was something terribly wrong and no amount of makeup or big hairdo could hide it. I far prefer her now.
