Well, I just got home from the gym where for some strange reason I thought about this on the StairMaster
In the beginning, Stevie wore very skimpy/loe cut/filmy outfits. Granted, they were not as outlandish as today's stuff, but they were pretty much the riske stuff of that time. Moreover, the bottom line is like the women today, Stevie used sex to sell her records. I agree it may have not been as extreme as it is today, but the principal is the same. Stevie did and does have talent, but so do some of the young girls out there today although it may not be to our or my liking. I mean when you think about it they all use sex to sell to varying degrees - it is just human nature.
