Hiring Billy and Rick was probably deemed necessary at the time, if only for purely financial reasons; i.e. the tour revenue. I wonder how much further that pushed Lindsey away, by providing a definite finality to the situation that might not have otherwise been there.

In Mick's book, he mentions how Lindsey left the house after the big fight, but he didn't just drive off. He sat in his car for a long time. Mick thought Lindsey wanted them to come out there after him, but everyone was so mad that no overtures were made. There is a sense that if a little time had passed, the break could not have been avoided, but it might not have been as brutal. Michele
