Now, I have no evidence but a run like that would surely mean sales of more than 500,000 copies. I read somewhere that Mick's album
The Visitor sold approximately 300,000 copies and it reached #43 but didn't have the longevity of Christine's album.
Not really sure why they never certified her album gold.
If anyone knows what sales figures were like in the mid 80's, please share with us because I've seen many articles which state that sales were down in the early 80's which is why
Mirage, #1 for five weeks and #2 for a further eleven weeks, only sold 2 million copies.
So, Christine's album spent three consecutive weeks at #26. To be at #26 in 1984, were sales around 50,000? Something like that? I don't know, I'm just guessing but if anyone has a rough idea then please share.
