Stevie talks about the Eagles here in a 1981 interview with Mary Turner :

"Let’s put it this way, I wasn’t the 9 year resident rock and roll star. I was new, but I had a job, I worked. Fleetwood Mac was happening. I had been singing along to the Eagles for five, ten years and then to finally actually meet all of them. I was very aware of what kind of guys they were, what they liked and what they didn’t like, who they accepted and who they didn’t accept. And I thought they were all roguish. And when I was with them I didn’t say anything about Fleetwood Mac ever. I just didn’t talk about it because it was easier if I was going to be around them to not talk about what I did because they weren’t really interested.”


"It says in the Highwayman, ‘she considers slowing down,’ but then he would never win. She purposely lets him win because it’s easier to let him win. She gets a lot further if she just lets him win. And I learned that a long time ago if I was going to be accepted as anything, as a songwriter, as a person, as anything, that I would have to be very quiet, unaggressive around them, feminine and trick them to death. And it worked. See I love them and I respect them so much, and they are, as far as I’m concerned the greatest songwriters and all I ever wanted from them was a pat on the back saying ‘not bad Stevie.' I didn’t want roses, flowers and accolades. I just wanted a word, which when Don came and sang on this album was probably the greatest compliment anyone has ever gave me because he would have never sang on that album if he didn’t think it was good.

When I was searching I found this 1994 quote from Details Magazine and it is very much where the band is today. I guess Stevie thinks they had better shut up about 24K and her solo career or else she definitely won't participate in a new album. She's keeping them treading water.

Yeah, and if the book were to come out, a lot of people would cease to think of me as this eccentric, flaky girl. My journals tell the real story of what went on, like the way things changed after Bella Donna came out. No one in the band ever said a word to me about my solo career. They were keeping quiet for their own best interests. They knew if they ripped Bella Donna apart, I wouldn't give them any more songs. Remember, "Dreams', which is just me, is the only gold single that Fleetwood Mac ever had.
