I have come to believe that Stevie has most probably had plastic surgery to repair the hole in her nasal septum. A deviated septum (is that the right name for it - who knows) would change her vocal quality. The Crystal Visions Tour performance of Dreams on the Live in Chicago DVD was extremely nasal.
She would not have lost her intense nasal twang without surgical repair of the hole in her nose. Good on her if she did get the surgery because ****, it worked, didn't it?
