She was ON.POINT. that night. The energy, the vocals, the facial expressions, her movements. I will never tire of watching this one. I wish there was a better version somewhere
It's a stunning raw performance in its immediacy, visually and vocally. This was an early introduction to the live performance of the song. It's great for what it is, but I feel that her performances of the song got better over time, as she grew into the song.

She cuts off her lyric lines (standing in a) and ( in the middle of my). In the second verse it appears she forgets a line and ad-libs it. This performance was highly animated specifically for TV. Strange how also performed Nightbird on this show, but it never performed it on stage. Seeing Sharon on Stand Back is hilarious, watching her stick-figured limbs awkwardly dangling around with no sense of rhythm. She is so seasoned now; cool and smooth.
