Of course recording an album wouldn't be easy or drama free. All the same, I don't think a one of them wants to close the book on the band without one last album. If the Eagles could pull it off, so can these guys. Not just that- since the Eagles put out one final album, you know the Mac will follow suit. This is why Christine came back, after all- so the band could put a nice neat bow on their history.

Why is this so unbelievable to people???

TOTALLY agree with you both! There's NO WAY they're not going to put out an album with everything that's already in the can, and there's NO WAY Stevie won't participate.....it would be career suicide!
As for not doing any new songs on THIS leg of the tour.....that was never the plan. This leg was meant as a warm up, allowing everyone to get their feet wet again, so to speak!
As far as I'm concerned, the best plans for the group would be to: A) Finish the album in early 2015, B) release it by late Spring/early Summer, then tour behind it for the rest of 2015.
After that, everyone could have 2016 off to do whatever they want.
Then, in 2017, regroup for the band's 50th anniversary. Do a tour and an album featuring every living member in the band's history.....Mick and John could be on each track, with the likes of Peter Green, Jeremy Spencer, Billy Burnette, Danny Kirwin, Rick Vito and Bekka Bramlett each handling a track, with Stevie, Christine and Lindsey taking on 1-3 each.
After 2017....it's anyone's call!
