Think about it; the time that they were "away" was a mere two years! Their Tusk tour ended in 1980. Both Stevie and Lindsey released their first solo albums in 1981, and Mirage was released in 1982, the same year of their tour.
Back then, two years was a considerably lengthy amount of time for a band to be inactive. The Mirage album and tour was herald as somewhat of a reunion! Can you imagine?
