I've always liked this song. I think it represents one of the best narrative lyric Stevie has written. Maybe it is because we know exactly the story that it was written about. It fuses both the mystical and spiritual which are both common themes in her song but not usually intertwined. It does seem like this song resonates with Stevie on some level...why else would we have three versions of this song? I have to say that I am happy to have Twisted redone than Gold & Braid which is what I thought we were getting when she eluded to a song played in concert that was never released (I guess she meant on a solo album).
