If you listen to how they used to play it live, his arrangement used to be so much more interesting, driving the piece forward. When I hear it, I keep listening for his guitar in the short break between the intro "But you never told me 'bout the fire" and the first verse, but it never comes any more. Same for Sisters of the Moon and even Say You Love Me. Arrangements matter; you give both a more acoustic-like, softer guitar part and then they simply don't rock, at all.
