You've kind of answered your own question. DId anyone notice during the tour how many people left their seats while the new songs were playing? Keep in mind, the majority of the concert goers don't know and aren't interested in knowing the new music. They want to hear the hits. Adding more new material would likely cause bad word of mouth that, "Yeah, but they played too much new stuff". Being a band like Fleetwood Mac makes it increasingly difficult to be successful with new music, especially since it's been such a long time since you last released an album of new music.
Let's face it, the CD was simply a "feeling out" period for the band. Debuting at #3 is not a bad accomplishment at all. Also, staying in the top 100 for nearly 4 months isn't bad either. Both "Peacekeeper" and "Say You Will" have been hits on the AAA charts, which is the largest growing radio format in the country.
The big test is what happens with the NEXT album.
