I agree with you on this dissention. For example if Oakenfold were to come out with a new mix of an unknown artist, they would jump all over it. He's pretty huge.

Except if Madonna for example came out with a new song, regardless of the mixer, she'd get played, and if it's an unknown mixer his status may get raised by mixing a Madonna record. If the mixer is well known, well that's where you have fireworks.

I think It can work both ways - it all depends on who has the higher profile.
