I have incredibly mixed feelings as well. My inner fanboy is giddy. My pragmatic side is panicking. I was not terribly pleased with the way Smile At You or Lady From The Mountain (Moonlight) turned out. Don't get me wrong, if I'd never heard the demos, I'd think each song was fantastic. However, each finished song lost the magic quality the original demos contained. Even though Planets Of The Universe turned out great, would it have been better with a more classic vs electronic sound we ended up with? Possibly. I guess the thought of songs like If You Were My Love or Mirror Mirror being massacred is more upsetting than I care to admit.

Not to mention it's just a bit bizarre for me to swallow 65 year old Stevie recording an entire album of songs from her youth. Don't get me wrong, these songs are all from her golden songwriting era. But Stevie's in such a different place in her life these days. Plus, I hate to even go here... but there's a reason some of these songs never turned up on an album.

Can I take you out back & shoot you yet?
