If you think those songs were "live" you got another thing coming. I heard many a prerecorded or overdubbed part on those songs. There is NO way in hell Lindsey got that guitar sound on Bleed to love her live. Also if you listen to the Dance you can hear multiple track of Stevie singing on certain songs. Those songs were way sweetened in the studio.

Of course I know. The point is, those songs were all done onstage as the base of the song. The band didn't write or record those basic tracks in a studio. I'm thinking that these five guys just don't want to go into a studio together, but they don't seem to mind going on tour. Go on the road, write new on the road, play it live, add whatever you want to it afterward, and release it as new
while you're still on the road.
As far as polishing a live track, you do not by any means need a big studio. You can do all the additional recording and mixing on the road.
