The phrase "on with the show" is curious because it's usually said when you've experienced some kind of setback and you plan to forge ahead, despite the hardship. I guess that could refer to John. They canceled shows. He got treatment, is recovering and now "on with the show."

It's just with Christine's return I would expect some kind of title that was more exuberant and revitalized and less stoic.

BombaySaffires' t-shirt guesses (that the words might be "was saying") reminded me of a Jack Paar story. He, talk show host, got mad and walked off of the Tonight Show abruptly. He returned 3 weeks later and started off with "as I was saying" as if the 3 week interruption had never occurred and he was just completing the sentence that he had began before he left.

Now, it's funny to think of that in the context of Christine, like she went away in 1998 and just picks up and carries on as if no absence ever happened.
