And she's probably saying to them that she might tour with David Grohl, which they don't believe she will do either. But I just imagine threats (effective or not) are being tossed back and forth.
It's like in
Destiny Rules, she said she might not do a full tour. Lindsey said he might take his masters and leave. Both of them were bluffing. Eventually they compromised.
Regarding FM, do they need in her in the studio now? No. But I'm sure they want her there, whether they need her or not, they don't take it kindly when she's not around. Bob Dylan, Tom Petty, etc.
