At face value, there's nothing in that statement to imply she's being obstinate about recording -- only that she hasn't yet committed to a time-frame (and probably whether she wants an outside producer for her songs. But that's just an assumption). There's also nothing to imply that she hasn't already sent Lindsey a few demos to listen to.
Finally, we don't even know that she hasn't been in the studio to visit. We're all just assuming she hasn't.
In fact, we (myself included) have all made a lot of assumptions, based on that one sentence from Lindsey.

Well....in fairness, Lindsey is a very calculated person when it comes to words. He speaks carefully and thinks about what he says. I feel like this quote from him was his way of saying "Stevie is noncommittal about recording" without actually saying it. I could be wrong, obviously, many think I and others who are skeptical of this album are in the wrong, and I hope we are.
It's all in the mincing of words.
