These were the days when a record company would spend not tens but hundreds of thousands of dollars on an album. And not only record companies. In 1977, Fleetwood Mac scored a monster hit with Rumours, which topped the album charts on three continents. They followed it up with the double album Tusk, which cost them a million dollars to produce.
Some have called this sort of thing self-indulgence or even conceit, but how can anyone fault a band whose members are prepared to put their money where their mouths are to that extent? Mick Fleetwood, Lindsey Buckingham and Stevie Nicks appear in this documentary, and if they aren't intensely proud of their commitment as much as their achievements, they should be.
