Burnish was great, and Tracy was very original with her site - that's what I respect the most. Fan sites come and go, but the ones I value the most are the ones that don't simply rehash what others have already done, the work that others have already researched and spent many hours preparing. They add something special to the browsing experience. I loved her video recaps and her cool futuristic graphics. She was really ahead of her time.
If I remember correctly, it was a small group of nasty people that pushed Tracy a little too hard on the message board. I'll never forget her last message in August 2004, "I need a vacation," and the site was never updated again. She did not deserve to be treated this way. I think the anonymity of the Internet gives people the balls and cowardice to do what they would never consider doing to someone in person.
Tiffany's Blue White Fire was a site after my own heart. I loved the literary allusions section, which I think she created with the help of Lisa (aka "Dark Angel"), who found all of those literary passages.
