A political system that permeates every facet of our daily lives with an us versus them polarity. A mentality that we're all 'special' just because we walk and talk. And while there are finer details of every point that could be argued endlessly, it's really all summed up by the simple fact that our culture is at the most vapid, greedy, consumeristic, me-me-me point in it's history. There's no "us" anymore unless it's to pit us against them. Our culture is sour, rotten to the core, and it manifests in our children. They get it from the adults in their lives, from observing the way we treat and talk to each other.
When I move a certain way
I feel an ache I can't debate
A hairline break that's taking hold...
I'm feeling broadly melancholy and esoteric today. Mostly life is good, until you look around with your eyes and heart *open* and see that it's not.
It's just so obvious that it's all connected. You only to have to step up and away for a moment, and then look down to see it, like a yellow cloud over our lives, everywhere. It's called selfishness.

10 000 points to KC!
... Yes. I can give points now.
I'd also like to touch on the fact that bullying these days is such a different experience from what it was years ago. The internet permeates just about every aspect of modern life, and much of bullying takes place on there. Bullying used to go away when you closed your front door when you got home. Now it follows you 24/7. I think this would put kids today in much more desperate mindsets than in the past. It's probably only a small piece of the puzzle but it's something I've had on the brain a lot lately as I watch my little sister grow up with about 10 social media accounts and everyone in her school connected by them all the time.
