Well, most of the vocals sound to me like Lindsey recorded himself mumbling in a cave. I listened to the song for a YEAR before SYW came out and had NO idea what he was saying most of the time until I had the lyric sheet in front of me! Seems to me that he maybe he actually WAS just mumbling through much of it, especially the "bathed in blue, bathed in white" part, and then came up with words that seemed to fit with the music later. (Sounds like he did that with parts of "Come" too, but that's another story). I suppose it's a valid song-writing technique, but usually it's not so apparent. Maybe he should have rerecorded the vocals once he decided what he was saying!
Aside from the vocals, the all layers and echoes make for just a little too much going on.
All that said, I actually do like the song, especially now that I know the lyrics and can sing along. I just like it the least.
