Right! In mid 80s, Mick was a heavy cocaine addict, Stevie was in cocaine and then Klonopin. And John was a heavy drinker (Mick told in his book he was suffering a serious artistic block). It wasn't the best context to produce a good album, however Tango in the Night did it more than fine. Probably Lindsey felt exhausted, tired, angry and saturated after a big effort to produce and collaborate in a FM album (he didn't ask for in the first place) among people not doing their best. But that doesn't mean it was "because Stevie" specifically.
