Stevie's talk with Tom Petty was earlier.It was in 1995 right after the SA tour..by 1999 she felt considerably more confident particularly with the huge success of The Dance and her subsequent Enchanted tour.She did not begin the TISL sessions with Sheryl until 1999 so your timeframe and overly harsh assesment of Sheryl's motives is way off.
