Chris quit the band because she was sick of touring and she was sick of this particular group of people. That was my theory the day the Dance tour was cut short and that is my theory now. There has been no evidence whatsoever that a showdown took place. Chris told the band she had had enough, and they all tried to change her mind. If anything, Lindsey was the most understanding one, according to some published reports. I recall reading somewhere that he said Christine was the one who was most supportive when he quit, and when she decided to leave he was supportive too because he could sympathize with her.
Unless Christine comes out and says exactly why she quit, we may never find out. Or we may just have to accept that her being tired of touring was the real reason.
