Well I am excited but also somewhat disappointed.

Stevie's last album was great yet she did the worse job of promoting it. The album drops in May and what does she do? Open up for Rod Stewart playing only 1 new song. Then she waits till Aug to do a small US tour. Then in Nov she hit Australia. Then this year she tours again as Rod's opening act with a small batch of USA shows. My gripe is that there were no Solo shows in Canada (not counting the three Rod dates) or Europe (Not counting the Hyde Park show) and some markets she played two years in a row. Correct if I am wrong but has she not played Boston, Jones Beach, Holmdale around 3-5 times solo since 05.

There was no proper tour in my opinion for the album and I am annoyed that she makes these comments that she put her foot down to work the album this year when she really didn't promote the album all that much in terms of a tour.

As for Lindsey I also enjoyed his new CD and saw the solo one man show. I liked that he properly supported the CD with a full on tour even though his current tour only had 1 song played from Seeds We Sow (Not counting the few shows where Rock Away Blind was played).

What bothers me is that Lindsey was all over The Eagles back when Say You Will was released because of the fact that we have a new CD to promote and they have been touring without new material for some time.

Now he is saying that they can get away with doing another tour without a new CD. I disagree. I get the the casual fan may not care to hear new material but I think if you are going to remain even remotely relevant you need to have new material.

Ticket prices judging from the Tacoma show will be pricey and given the fragile economy and also having them go on sale at Christmas may affect ticket sales.

In 2006 Ottawa got The Who on their Endless Wire tour and the ticket sales were pretty good. Last month they came back through town and barely got 4,000. I am concerned the same may happen to FM. They played Ottawa last time and got around 14,000. I am not sure if they will get that much if the show is going to be 50-75% the same setlist as the last few tours.

The only reason I am excited is because they are my favorite band and unlike many here I didn't get the chance to see them in their heyday so I am making up for it by going to local shows when I can. I am thinking of hitting the first show in Columbus just in case they drop something and then going to my hometown show but that is all. Since the show won't be changing from night to night after the first show kinks are worked out.

Matt
