It most certainly is naive. I'd like to lead my life knowing that my bigot relatives can't screw with my and my partner's life, which they could do without much effort if the right circumstances presented themselves.
Please stop trying to impose your ideals on me when you so clearly have no understanding of reality, or are simply choosing to ignore it.
