More than a hundred mop-topped musicians have flocked to a London theatre in the hope of being cast as Paul, John, George or Ringo in a new Beatles-inspired musical.

On this spring morning fifty years ago, Brian Epstein climbed the front steps and passed through the simple entrance of the EMI Recording Studios in St. John’s Wood, London, placing him on the other side of the looking glass. As a retailer, he had sold recordings made in these studios by Sir Edward Elgar, Sir Thomas Beecham, and, more recently, Cliff Richard and the Shadows. The neophyte manager of the Beatles now eagerly anticipated the possibility of watching through the control room window as his “boys” joined that exclusive club.

Shirt off John Lennon's back among items in annual Liverpool Beatles Auction
The Liverpool Beatles Auction doesn't take place until August, but the auction site already has listed several rarities that will be included in the sale, reports the Beatles Shop which is managing the event.These include a piece of John Lennon's shirt, a set of Beatles autographs signed for a very young (at the time) fan and a collection of movie posters from films featuring Ringo Starr.
