It's also quite possible that Lindsey is only part of a composite that she made up for the song. I know songwriters who use that technique all the time. Sometimes in the context of a particular song, there's only a line or two about a specific person that is literal. Then you have to start thinking of others to be able to finish the story. I've done that in short stories too. That's the beauty of creating.

, I have thought that phrase "he fell for her again, she watched it happen, everyday, day by day, but more important, night by night" could mean that she saw LB falling for her music and trusting her and each other again and that every night, they played it up for the audience, which was why it was more important "night by night." That kind of goes along with she can dedicate her pain to him (presumably LB) by writing songs about it, etc., and it all being so overwhelming.
I think La Nicks often cleverly uses general phrases that can have two distinct meanings. A good example would be "the lonliness of a one night stand is hard to take" - For like 17 years, I thought that was about sleeping around. Then, in 1998, she reveals it is not about that at all and she was talking about how it was hard to let go of the audience's adulation after a concert.
