I was under the impression that Lindsey was supportive of Stevie taking her time with IYD since she had such a good experience with the whole process and she hadn't enjoyed making a record that much in a long time.. at least, that's what he expressed in all the interviews that I read. And he also threw out mentions of maybe just him and Stevie doing something together re:Buckingham Nicks - I don't think he was all that preoccupied with something having to happen with FM.
Also: AS IF that is the first time Lindsey has lost patience with Stevie.
