The thing that drove me batty about LPs was the paranoia over wearing out the grooves and/or wearing out the diamond stylus of the tonearm cartridge. I would force myself to
ration my playing of certain albums because of this. And OMG, I can't listen to some songs these days without thinking back on where I would always hear a loud pop, or where I would have to nudge the needle so that it wouldn't get hung up playing the same groove over and over. Ugh. As such, I truly do not understand this newfound (hipster) interest in collecting vinyl LPs and such. There is a reason why everything went digital!
