I think we've found a solution that works, so I'm not posting this to muddy the waters, BUT....
it's funny how hard it is to define a hit. While "Landslide" from The Dance only charted at #51, you really have to take into account how much radio had changed in the 10 years preceding. There is no way that song
wasn't a hit. It was played to death on several station in my area, and fifteen years later, I still hear it on the radio a couple times a month. On the other hand, I almost never hear "Hold Me" anymore, and I don't think I've heard "Big Love" since it dropped off the charts in 1987.
Once again, I'm not suggesting we change anything....I just think it's funny how you can never be sure what will be an enduring "hit."
