Do you guys remember a skit that Martin Short once did on either SNL or SCTV where he played this sort of Rat Pack inspired Vegas performer who goes into a recording studio and they keep trying to pair him up with people for a duets album but every time it's his turn to sing, no matter if it's a ballad or a swing number or what, he starts to sing a line or two and then goes "bada bing, bada boom... yadda yadda yadday... okay, that's a wrap" or something like that. And everyone keeps getting more and more frustrated with him. Stevie's extra Tango vocals always make me think of that. Like she dragged Lindsey into the studio one day without even knowing the songs and just laid them all down in five minutes.
I'm not even hinting that this is what really happened. It just pops into my mind like a late 80's SNL skit.
Stevie: Okay Lindsey, hit record.
Lindsey: Don't you want to know what song it is?
Stevie: Nah, I'll wing it... wing... wings... bird wings... Lindsey, we should go to a park and record the sounds of birds ris...
Lindsey: Not this again
Stevie: What, huh? Oh, yeah... go ahead, I'm ready.
Lindsey: If you say so
(Little Lies starts playing)
Stevie: Hmm, lies... lies.. okay... Tell me lies, woah! Sweet little lies... tell me liiiies. Oh no well you can't disguise... ooOOooOOoooooh! Okay, next! House up on that hill! House up on that hill!!! Well, it's a big big loooove yah!!!
Lindsey: Um... we're not on that one yet.
Stevie: *door slam then silence
Lindsey: ****.
(I love that the forum edited out the "S" word. *giggle)
