Absolutely no disrespect is intended, but multimedia speakers designed primarily for game-playing and action films may not be the best way to detect the very subtle differences between 44kHz/16bit files and higher sample rate / bit depth files. Even on studio reference monitors in a sound-treated room, it is extremely difficult to distinguish the difference.
As mentioned, though, the most important factor would be the quality of the source that was used and to a much lesser extent how it was converted to digital.
Here's hoping for true source remastering!
