What's the music scene like there? Lots of bagpipes, kilts, and drunk guys?

My advice is not to work on an accent unless you want to get on the wrong side of a few people!

Besides, it's always better to have a different accent when you go on holiday somewhere! You'll be exotic and interesting, get drinks bought for you and, like my last time in Chicago... find it easy to be, ahem, "popular".
I love flying! Once I'm checked in etc and don't have to rush then the holiday starts at the airport. As for on the flight itself, I just relax and watch the movies! If booze needs to be involved for you then just as well it will be an international flight.. ffree booze!
Oh the music scene can be fantastic depending on which city you're in and if you know where to go. Yes, some parts of Scotland have fantastic traditional music - particularly the west coast and one particular bar where I am - but by that I mean brilliant folk/celtic etc and not bagpipes! Bagpipes are reserved for The Royal Mile in Edinburgh and are pretty much for tourists..shudder.. There's also some pretty good rock clubs etc but it all depends on which city you're in. Scotland is bigger than you'd think!
