My phD is in Film Studies, focusing on older models of classic Hollywood stardom and how these have become outmoded in light of contemporary fame culture (celebrity etc). Older film theory and stardom classifications no longer work.. why not? There's a bit of sociology in there too. 74500 words and tt's high culture stuff... chapter include case studies of Nicole Kidman, Britney Spears, Meryl Streep, the Beckhams, Bette Davis... haha. So I'm looking for academic lecturing positions at any university anywehere. It will be in some kind of cultural studies, film studies, media and communications dept. I made it as versatlie as possible. I cn also always just teach classic film studies though - wehatever is on offer really.
