Well, "never" has arrived. After years of demand - and a small nod to fans with the TIME LIFE video collection (released in the 25th year of the hall) A true audio collection is now becoming available! From
www.directcurrentmusic.com: "nearly 200 others in a special 10-volume digital-only collection arriving at iTunes on November 15 and a 51-song 3-CD set available November 1. The annual induction ceremonies are known for their legendary jam sessions and these collections capture many of the best."
I can confirm that commercials for the download service are forthcoming - but the announcement of a physical disc set was truly unconfirmed until now.
Disc 3 of the set contains two FM perfromances from the 1998 inductions, including (track 2) "Say You Love Me" (live acoustic, as was done on THE DANCE tour that previoius fall) [would this mark THE last performance of Christine McVie with the band?] and (track 5) "Landslide" (credited to Lindsey & Stevie) also from 1998.
Longtime FM friends Sheryl Crow and Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers also make several appearances on the physical set.
This is a HUGE coup for rock fans - hopefully some of the proceeds will go back into the RRHOFM's ongoing education funds (about to do another AMMS event on Aretha Franklin the weeks of 10/31 - 11/5).
